Overview

Chilseong Market Station (칠성시장역) in Daegu sits on Daegu Metro Line 1 (Station 133) in Buk-gu. Opened in 1998 as Chilseong Station, it was renamed on January 1, 2008 to highlight its role as the entry point to Chilseong Market, one of Daegu’s largest and most iconic traditional markets.

The sub-name of the station is currently MS Reconstruction Hospital.

Station Information

  • Address: Basement 222, Chilseongnam-ro, Buk-gu, Daegu (278-1 Chilseong-dong 1-ga)
  • Operator: Daegu Transportation Corporation
  • Depth: 20.2 m (3 floors underground)
  • Platform: Double track, relative platform (no crossing)
  • Management: Jungang-ro Management Station / Customer Center 1

The station lies beneath Chilseong Bridge and at the busy Chilseong Market intersection. Due to the Sincheon crossing underground, the station was built deeper than average, and elevators were added in 2013.
